Tour Itinerary
Day 1
We depart from the local area in the morning, travelling West and arriving during the afternoon at our hotel. Enjoy a welcome tea or coffee and then spend some time to settle in before our evening meal.
Day 2
Shepton Mallet Prison
After breakfast we travel to the 400-year-old Shepton Mallet Prison, where we experience a 2-hour guided tour of this historic former jail. Led by ex-prison officers who worked these very landings, they will tell unique tales of real life inside. Who were the infamous inmates, how many escaped, when was the last hanging, how do drugs get into jail? Ask all the questions you have! Your tour will take in a traditional prison wing, cells furnished as they were left, segregation areas, prison kitchens, plus the hangman's bedroom and the hanging room. Please note, this tour covers approximately one mile and 200 stairs and, regrettably, the prison is unable to provide wheelchair access. We have a packed lunch for you to enjoy at leisure and, later in the day, we return to the hotel in time to relax before our evening meal and live music.
Day 3
Weston-Super-Mare
A day at leisure in this lovely seaside resort, so enjoy breakfast and then head out to explore. The wide sweep of Weston Bay has miles of clean, sandy beach and all the traditional attractions, such as the Grand Pier and the level promenade. Take your packed lunch and explore to your heart's content! Back at the hotel this evening, we'll enjoy another dinner with musical entertainment afterwards.
Day 4
Bristol
After breakfast, we have a day of leisure in Bristol. If you're looking to shop, Bristol has nearly 500 stores between its two separate covered shopping centres. You'll discover an array of things to do that are born out of the city's centuries-old heritage and irrepressible creative spirit. Float over historic landmarks in a beautiful balloon, seek out world-class street art and follow the sound of live music flowing into cobbled streets. We'll return to the hotel for our final dinner and evening entertainment.
Day 5
Departing after breakfast we return to the local area.
