We depart the hotel and arrive back in the local area during the afternoon.
Built by Baron Ferdinand de Rothschild between 1874 and 1885 and opened to the public in 1959, Waddesdon Manor is home to the Rothschild Collections of paintings, sculpture and decorative arts. Over Christmas, most of the manor's 18th-century furnished rooms are "put to bed", and a selection of specially decorated rooms are opened, resplendent in full festive regalia. The manor's front lawn will also host a charming Christmas fair (cash only), with 80 selected stallholders occupying charming wooden chalets at the foot of the building. The fair offers exciting variety of high-quality, unique gifts, decorations, crafts and festive foods.
