Tour Itinerary
Day 1

We head north for an overnight stay.

Day 2

Travel Day
We travel to Scotland for our stay at the Columba Hotel for three nights.

Day 3

Full Day Tour of Mull & Iona
Today, we enjoy a full day public guided tour with a local company of the two beautiful Inner Hebridean islands of Mull and Iona. Our journey begins with a 45-minute ferry crossing from Oban to Craignure on Mull, passing breath-taking scenery steeped in history, including stunning Duart Castle built in the 13th century. On arrival in Mull, we meet our guide and join their coach for a scenic guided tour through the island, around its lochs and through its glens, to Fionnphort, where we board a ferry to Iona. We have 2 hours to spend on this tiny island, when we can enjoy a leisurely stroll through the medieval nunnery and Reilig Òdhrain, the burial place of early Scottish kings, before visiting the world-famous Iona Abbey, one of Scotland's most sacred sites. From here, we begin our journey in reverse back to the mainland.

Day 4

Nevis Range Gondola & Fort William
Today, we travel to Fort William, where we first enjoy a return ride on the Nevis Range Mountain Gondola, Britain's only mountain gondola. Reaching a height of 650m on the north face of Aonach Mòr our short 15-minute journey takes us over the stunning scenery of the Scottish Highlands. At the top station, we enjoy free time to visit the restaurant, take in the views and wander around the Mountain Discovery Centre before we return to ground level. In the afternoon we have time at leisure exploring the town of Fort William, known as the Outdoor Capital of the UK.

Day 5

Inveraray Castle & Journey to Bute
This morning, we depart our hotel in Oban and head to Inveraray Castle where we enjoy a guided tour. With fairy tale turrets, this magnificent castle is one of the most iconic in Scotland. We learn about its history and stories before exploring its stunning gardens at leisure. In the afternoon, we make our way to the Isle of Bute, travelling on the 'wee' ferry from Colintraive to Rhubodach, arriving at our hotel in time for dinner. We spend two nights at the hotel.

Day 6

Mount Stuart & Rothesay
This morning, we visit neo-gothic Mount Stuart, one of the most technologically advanced houses of its age, set in 300-acres of landscaped gardens, woodland and coast. With beautiful interiors, the house is a labyrinth of lavish rooms, grand hallways and staircases, and the sight of the Marble Hall is truly captivating. From here, we take a scenic tour around the island, finishing in Rothesay. This smart Victorian seaside resort boasts a splendid Victorian frontage and glorious esplanade gardens. We have time at leisure to explore the town or visit the many attractions such as the Isle of Bute Discovery Centre, Rothesay Castle and Bute Museum.

Day 7

Travel Day
This morning, we begin our journey home with a ferry crossing from Rothesay to Wemyss Bay on the mainland. We had to our overnight hotel.

Day 8

It's time to head for home.
