Isle of Man Steam Railway & The Old House of Keys
We start today with a classic journey aboard the Isle of Man Steam Railway from Douglas to the seaside resort of Port Erin, where we have free time to explore. This afternoon we make a visit to The Old House of Keys, the former meeting place of the Isle of Man's parliament. It is located across the streetfrom Castle Rushen in Castletown, the former capital of the Isle of Man, in the south of the island.
Tynwald Hill & Manx Electric Railway
Explore the north of the island today, starting with a visit to Tynwald Hill, home of the 1000-year-old Manx Parliament. Then follow the famous TT Motorcycle Course to 'Royal' Ramsey. With its working harbour and interesting maritime history, it's a great place to take a stroll and explore. Then it's 'all aboard' the Manx Electric Railway for a scenic journey south through the countryside to Laxey.
Enjoy a free day in Douglas, the island's capital, taking in views of the bay from the Victorian promenade or visiting the excellent Manx Museum for a journey through the island's history.
Set in the beautiful parish of Lezayre, Milntown is the Island's only Historical Estate. Fifteen acres of beautiful gardens and woodland surround this magnificent mansion, and the café at its heart. In the afternoon we leave Milntown House and enjoy a drive back to our hotel for an afternoon at leisure.
Following an early breakfast we begin the journey home.
