Carnforth Station & Morecambe Festival Market
This morning we travel to Morecombe where you can combine shopping and sightseeing at Morecambe's Festival Market - a traditional covered market situated close to Morecambe Promenade. In the afternoon we stop at the famous Carnforth Station Heritage Centre and Refreshment Room. It has been restored to its 1940's glory when the Refreshment Room was used as the setting for David Lean's film "Brief Encounter".
Lakes Aquarium & Lake Windermere Cruise
Today we visit Lakes Aquarium on the southern shore of Windermere. The Lakes Aquarium is home to hundreds of amazing creatures; showcasing local wildlife from around the Lake District and more exotic species from around the world. We also enjoy a 45-minute cruise on Lake Windermere. Lake Windermere is the most popular attraction in Cumbria, it is England's largest Lake, in the heart of the Lake District. Enjoy magnificent views of mountain scenery, secluded bays and the man wooded islands.
Derwent Pencil Museum & Keswick
This morning we take a visit to Derwent Pencil Museum. Home of the first pencil, enter this museum through a replica graphite mine which would have served as the source of the pencil industry over three centuries ago. Discover the secret WW2 pencils with hidden maps; one of the largest colour pencils in the world measuring almost 8 metres; The Queen's diamond Jubilee pencil; miniature pencil sculptures; and much much more! We then have the afternoon in Keswick. Keswick is a market town surrounded by mountains. The market Attracts both locals and tourists, traders offer a wide selection of award-winning food and handcrafted gifts.
After breakfast, we make our way home.
