Tour Itinerary
Day 1

We make our way up the country and to our first hotel stop of the tour in Preston.

Day 2

This morning we carry on our journey, crossing over to Scotland and to the Winnock Hotel.

Day 3

Loch Katrine Cruise
We spend today taking in the spectacular scenery en route to our first destination, Loch Katrine. Departing from the Trossochs Pier, we enjoy an awe-inspiring cruise on the world-famous Steamship Sir Walter Scott. Gliding past stunning Trossachs landmarks, the friendly crew will regale us with tales and legends of the Loch while we sit back and relax in comfort. Next, we head for the pretty bustling tourist town of Callander, the location for the original Doctor Findlay's Casebook TV series. We have free time to enjoy lunch and explore before heading back to our hotel the Winnock.

Day 4

Eilean Donan Castle & Journey to Skye
We leave Loch Lomond behind today and make our way to Skye journeying through spectacular countryside. Travelling via Fort William, we stop at the famous Eilean Donan Castle, situated on an island and surrounded by majestic scenery. We explore the inside of the castle before making our way back to the hotel. We continue to the famous Skye Bridge for our crossing to the mystical island of Skye, our home for the next two nights.

Day 5

Dunvegan Castle & Gardens, Trotternish & Portree
Today we make our way to the north west corner of Skye to visit famous Dunvegan Castle & Gardens. Built on a rocky outcrop on the shores of Loch Dunvegan (once entirely encircled by the sea) Dunvegan is the oldest continuously inhabited castle in Scotland and has been the ancestral home of the Chiefs of Clan MacLeod for 800 years. After our visit here, we enjoy a scenic drive up the Trotternish Peninsula, home to the Old Man of Storr, before returning to our hotel via the picturesque harbour town of Portree. Set around a natural harbour and fringed by high ground and cliffs, the town is a popular tourist destination.

Day 6

Cruise Loch Ness & Perth
This morning we cross to the mainland and embark upon a scenic journey to Loch Ness. We attempt to track down the world's shyest monster on a 50-minute cruise of legendary Loch Ness, departing from Fort Augustus on the southern shores. Brimming with history and monster tales, the real stars of the Loch are its castles, monuments and scenery. From here we follow the coastal road north to our next hotel in Perth where we have some time to explore the he 'Fair City' of Perth, with its tall spires and River Tay flowing through it. It inspired Sir Walter Scott to pen 'The Fair Maid of Perth' which in turn inspired Bizet's opera.
Perth boasts an array of monuments, art galleries and museums you can explore, as well as being able to take in the historic atmosphere by wandering the cobbled streets of Georgian town houses.

Day 7

We head south to our overnight hotel in the Preston area.

Day 8

We head further south to meet our feeder drivers for the journeys back to our house.
