Day 1 We depart from our home area and arrive at our hotel in time for dinner.
Day 2 Yorkshire Dales National Park
Today enjoy a journey through the Yorkshire Dales National Park, passing through the pretty villages and abundant flora and fauna that make up this beautiful area. We make a stop in Hawes, home of Wensleydale Cheese, where you can browse the Visitors Centre (entrance not included) before making our way back to the hotel.
Day 3 Festive Steam on the Wild Side
Experience Christmas with a difference at the Ravenglass & Eskdale Railway and Muncaster Castle & Gardens. We start our day at Muncaster Castle with a full guided tour, enjoy a festive lunch in the Dining Hall and experience their Bird of Prey show. Then we arrive at the Railway for a return steam trip and enjoy a mulled wine and mince pie at Dalegarth Station.
Day 4 - Deck the Halls at Leighton Hall and Hayes Garden World
We start the day at Leighton Hall, which is dressed for Christmas, the guided house tour gives guests a glimpse of nostalgic Christmases gone by, after enjoying mince pies and coffee in front of an open fire. We then head to Hayes Garden World in Ambleside in the Lake District for the afternoon. Hayes has everything you need for the perfect Christmas, from baubles and bunting, to tinsel and trees. As well as a huge indoor and outdoor garden department, there are ornaments, kitchenware, books, clothing and all manner of gifts!
Day 5 After breakfast we leave and begin our homeward journey.
3* Riverside Hotel, Kendal, Cumbria
This charming hotel enjoys a fabulous riverside location in the centre of Kendal. The shops and attractions are a short walk across the bridge. The restaurant has river views and bedrooms are equipped with tea/coffee facilities, a TV with Freeview, Wi-Fi, telephone, hairdryer and ironing facilities. There is a lift to all floors which is accessed via some steps; a stair lift is also available. Leisure facilities include an indoor swimming pool, gym, sauna and steam room.
