Day 2

Samlesbury Hall & The Chocolate House
Built in 1325, Samlesbury Hall is a stunning stately home retaining its original black and white exterior and steeped in fascinating history and legends. Hear stories of witchcraft, ghosts and boggarts. From the Victorian kitchen, schoolroom & the 1950s bedroom, there is plenty to see, along with changing exhibitions in the Long Gallery.
This afternoon we visit the Chocolate House, a renowned local producer of hand-made chocolates, fudge and truffles, complete with a chocolate making demonstration and tastings.

Day 3

Bury & East Lancashire Railway
This morning we travel to Bury where the famous market will be in full swing. From fashion to household, gifts, books, fresh and local produce and more. It's also home to the Bury Black Pudding and the market has been known to be the best place to buy it in many forms. There are also many museums in the city such as The Bury Transport museum, Art Museum, The Fusilier Museum and more.
We meet up at the East Lancashire Railway where we step back in time for a beautiful 2 and ½ hour steam train ride through the Irwell Valley. We are greeted with a welcome glass of fizz before we take our seats in the traditional Pullman style carriages as our train steams up for its journey. As we roll around the countryside, we are served a traditional three course festive meal, tea/coffee and homemade mince pies.

After we take a scenic drive back to the hotel, they'll be time to enjoy the facilities before a mulled wine reception and light evening buffet.
