Tour Itinerary
Day 1

We start early today to with a home pick up to cross the channel and make our way to our overnight hotel in Germany.

Day 2

Passau - Melk
We continue by coach to Lower Bavaria in Germany and board our ship in Passau, known as 'the three rivers city' due to its unique location where the Danube, Inn and Ilz rivers meet. Check into your cabins and relax as we set sail and cruise towards Melk.

Day 3

Melk - Vienna
This morning we arrive in the fairy-tale like town of Melk, which lies in the beautiful Wachau Valley. Here you can join our excursion to discover the Benedictine Abbey, one of the world's most famous monastic house which has been occupied by monks for over 900 years. Today, Melk Abbey is a prestigious school with more than 800 students, yet black robed Benedictine monks still stroll among the marble structures and frescoed walls.

Our guided tour shows you the magnificent Marble Hall, Emperor's Gallery, Abbey Church and the terrace where you can enjoy fine views of the Danube River and the town. You can relax on board for the remainder of the day as we cruise to Vienna for an overnight stop.

Day 4

Full day in Vienna
We spend a full day experiencing the delights of Vienna, the city of music. Grand palaces, baroque castles, magnificent squares and striking monuments are abound as we take an excursion to Belvedere Palace. A masterpiece of total art, Schloss Belvedere is one of the world's finest baroque palaces. Evoking giddy romance in its sumptuously frescoed halls, replete with artworks by Klimt, Schiele and Kokoschka; enjoy the stories conjured in its landscaped gardens, which drop like the fall of a theatre curtain to reveal Vienna's skyline.

Day 5

Guided Tour of Budapest
We arrive mid-morning in Budapest, one of the most beautiful cities in the world. Here you can explore both sides of Hungary's capital - traditional Buda and the more cosmopolitan Pest. Start the day by joining our guided tour which introduces you to the highlights and helps you get your bearings in the city known as the 'pearl of the Danube'.

After lunch, we board a local coach to city tour takes in some of the most beautiful areas including Heroes Square - the city's most impressive square and the splendid terrace of Fisherman's Bastion which offers a grand panorama of almost the entire city.

In the evening you can see this beautiful city when it lights up against the night sky. First of all, you can experience an authentic piece of Hungarian culture at a folklore show and enjoy famous gypsy music and dancing.

Day 6

Puszta Horse Show or Free time in Budapest
Enjoy a morning in Budapest or join an excursion which takes you through the sweeping plains of Hungary to Lajosmizse, where we take in human skill and horse power come together in a spectacular live Puszta horse show performed in an open-air arena. We set sail in the afternoon and cruise towards Bratislava.

Day 7

Bratislava
We reach Bratislava at the crack of dawn. This historic city is dominated by its castle and unique suspension bridge. Join our walking tour to take in the sights of this Slovakian capital and experience its rich culture, before spending an afternoon at leisure and setting sail in the evening towards Dürnstein.

Day 8

Dürnstein
The charming town of Dürnstein is surrounded by beautiful scenery and filled with traditional architecture and places of historic interest, crowned by the ruins of the castle that once imprisoned Richard the Lionheart. Roam along the beautifully cobbled streets to admire the 16th century houses and pretty courtyards before setting sail for the final time and cruise towards Passau.

Day 9

We disembark at Passau this morning and travel by coach to our overnight hotel.

Day 10

After breakfast we continue by coach to Calais for our return crossing and onward journey home.
