We make our way to our hotel The Mercure Nottingham Sherwood, were a cup of tea/coffee will be waiting for us. There will be time to settle into our rooms and explore the hotels facility's before dinner is served.
Melton Mowbray Chocolate Festival
This morning we travel to the historic market town of Melton Mowbray, famous for its pork pie and speciality cheeses, it is also, home to the UK's most popular chocolate festival, The Chocfest! You can find chocolate in every flavour and form, yes even as a pork pie! Talks, demonstrations, sampling and of course the chance to buy all chocolate related offerings from Chocolate cakes, pies, crepes, brownies, tarts, liqueurs, doughnuts, macarons, desserts, marshmallows and biscuits will all be on offer.
We spend the morning at leisure in Nottingham, the coach will drop us in the city centre close to the Robin Hood Statue. From here you can explore on foot sites and attractions such as the Lace Market, Nottingham Castle, Museum & Art Gallery, St Mary's Church, The National Justice Museum, and the Old Market Square which sits in the centre of Nottingham's shopping streets and is home to a statue of another of its famous resident Brian Clough. We return back to the hotel in the afternoon for a cream tea.
It's time to say farewell and head for home.
