We continue our journey to Söll and arrive at our hotel
Today we travel to Jenbach, where we join the original Lake Achen cog railway to journey to Seespitz. This railway dates back to 1889 and the steam engines are some of the oldest in the world. The train winds its way up above the Inn Valley to its destination, the largest Alpine lake in the Tyrol, Lake Achensee. After a photo opportunity, join a short boat cruise along the beautiful shores from Seespitz to Pertisau. Once back on dry land, we can enjoy free time in the lakeside resort of Pertisau where there are several cafés in which to have lunch. On our return journey, we stop at the delightful town of Rattenberg, famous for its glass and crystal workshops.Br, D
Today we visit the Tyrolean capital city of Innsbruck, surrounded by the jagged rock spires of the Nordkette range. We enjoy a 1-hour horse and carriage ride through the streets of the old town and discover some of the most important sightseeing attractions, including the Hofgarten gardens, the ornate 15th century 'Golden Roof' designed as a royal box for the Emperor, the column of Saint Anne and the Triumphal Arch. We then have time at leisure to explore the medieval old town, Tyrolean Folk Art Museum, Grand Imperial Palace (entrance not included) and Baroque Cathedral (entrance not included).Br, D
