This Victorian country house is set within 262 acres of spectacular Cheshire countryside and an 18-hole championship golf course on the edge of the Peak District National Park. The restaurant affords delightful views over the grounds and leisure facilities include an indoor swimming pool, sauna, spa bath, steam room and gym. There are tea/coffee making facilities in bedrooms and there is a lift.

Day 1

We arrive at our hotel in time for dinner.

Day 2

This morning we visit the magnificent estate of Lyme House & Park, one of the most famous country-house images in England due to its appearance as 'Pemberley' in the BBC's Pride and Prejudice. It sits on the edge of the Peak District, nestling within sweeping moorland. We continue with a visit to nearby Quarry Bank Mill, one of the best-preserved textile mills of the Industrial Revolution. Then we have free time to relax and perhaps take a stroll in the hotel's fabulous grounds.

Day 3

We travel over the spectacular Snake Pass and drive along Ladybower Reservoir where we will have wonderful views of the surrounding countryside. We arrive at Haddon Hall, recognised as one of the most romantic houses in Britain and the filming location for many films. After our visit, we make a lunch stop (not included) in Bakewell, famous for its Bakewell pudding, before heading to the market town of Buxton which has several claims to fame including its world-famous spa water!

Day 4

This morning we travel to the World of Wedgwood which celebrates the very best of British industrial design and heritage. We have the option of taking a factory tour before visiting the museum and the flagship factory outlet store. Spend a peaceful afternoon exploring nearby Trentham Gardens, with its splendid Italian Garden and pleasure grounds.
