The dignified, renaissance character of the Montepulciano cityscape is reflected in the countless exquisite palaces which line the streets. Enjoy the historic Piazza Grande before we travel to Pienza where we will visit a pecorino cheese producer to sample this wonderful cheese. We then make our way to Bagno Vignoni where you will find a large thermal pool in the town centre.

Today is yours to explore Chianciano Terme. Both the old town and the surroundings are worth a visit: the medieval village is home to interesting architecture, religious and museums: must-sees are the Clock Tower, the Archaeological Museum of Waters and the Art Museum which houses antique and contemporary works from Guttuso to Munch.
Perugia & Assisi
Today we meet our guide and head for the centre of Perugia. Hardly changed since the Middle Ages, Perugia has a rich treasure trove of sights. We then continue to Assisi, the birthplace of St Francis whose art and religious sites have charmed visitors from all over the world.
Vintage Steam Train & Castiglione d'Orcia Spring Festival
Join the vintage steam train journey to Castiglione d'Orcia for the Spring Festival. Here you'll have plenty of time to browse the small markets of handicraft, taste olive oils and high-quality wines, watch street artist's shows and listen to folk music. In the charming, cobblestone central piazza of Castiglione d'Orcia there is a beautiful travertine fountain, medieval buildings, several shops and artisans' galleries. There is also Romanesque churches of Santa Maria Maddalena and Santi Stefano e Degna, the latter of which houses two Madonna with Child paintings, one by Simone Martini and the other by Pietro Lorenzetti.
