A beautiful 700-year-old country manor retaining many of its original features including turrets and porticos, set in the Lancashire countryside in idyllic grounds. Facilities include a restaurant, two bars, indoor pool and modern fitness centre. All en-suite bedrooms are equipped with TV, hairdryer and tea/ coffee making facilities. Please note: The hotel has a lift, but it does not service all rooms.

Day 1

We travel to Lancashire to arrive at our hotel in time for dinner.


Day 2

We head north to the wonderful market town of Settle in the Yorkshire Dales, before sitting back and enjoying a classic rail journey to Kirkby Stephen on the famous Settle to Carlisle Railway. Considered the most scenic rail journey in England, it winds through moorland scenery and over the famous Ribblehead Viaduct. This afternoon head back into the Yorkshire Dales and visit Hawes, popular for its Wensleydale Cheese, made famous by Wallace and Gromit.

Day 3

Skipton is our destination today as we take to the water on an historic relaxing cruise along the Leeds - Liverpool Canal, before joining in the fun at its ever-popular market. Stall holders and shoppers barter with each other along the high street close to the town's impressive medieval castle.

Day 4

We visit the historic market town of Clitheroe, where we make a stop at the mill shopping experience at Boundary Mill before going on to explore the historic town of Haworth, popular for its close ties with the famous Bronte Sisters and home to the Bronte Parsonage Museum.

We begin our journey back to the local area and home
