We make our way northward to our overnight hotel.
We continue our journey north arriving at our hotel to enjoy a glass of mulled wine. Live musical entertainment will follow dinner this evening.
Today we visit the historic town of Fort William on the shores of Loch Linnhe below Ben Nevis, the highest mountain in the British Isles. There is plenty of time to enjoy the specialist shops or the pedestrianised high street or if you prefer to learn more about the history of your surroundings, why not visit the West Highland Museum. We then make the short journey to Banavie to take a cruise on the Caledonian Canal. We return to the hotel where we enjoy a Traditional Scottish evening.
Morning excursion to Oban acclaimed to be the ‘Gateway to the Isles’. The town has an array of unique shops and a distillery right in the middle of the town! For the more energetic the climb from the town centre to McCaig’s Tower is well worth the effort for the spectacular views across Oban Bay to the Atlantic Islands. We return to the hotel early afternoon for tea and scones. Live musical entertainment follows dinner again this evening.
Today we tour the beautiful Trossachs to the pretty village of Callander, a Victorian spa town which became popular due to the proximity of The Trossach’s and then passing Aberfoyle, situated at the foot of Duke’s Pass and returning to the hotel via Tarbet and Crainlarich.
We depart the beautiful Scottish countryside and retrace our steps back to our overnight hotel.
Continuing our journey south, we return to the local area and home.
