Discover the history of Hastings, famed for its battle in 1066 and lively Brighton, with its many attractions from the Victorian promenade to the i360, a giant viewing pod which glides gently to 450ft for views for miles. Top it off with a tasting at vineyard in the Sussex countryside.

We spend the afternoon at the sumptuous award-winning Pashley Manor Gardens. The abundant Kitchen Garden supplies fresh herbs, salads and vegetables to the Garden Room Cafe. Other features include a mid-Victorian greenhouse, Rose Walk, terrace, fountain, ponds, herbaceous borders and woodland.
