Dartmouth Railway Journey & River Cruise
Today we visit Paignton where we embark on a steam train ride to Kingswear. Enjoy breath-taking scenery on this picturesque line along the spectacular English Riviera Geopark coast and through the wooded slopes bordering the Dart Estuary. It is here that we cross the River Dart on the foot passenger ferry to Dartmouth and board our pleasure boat for a relaxing one-hour return river cruise. There will be time in Dartmouth to browse the narrow shopping streets or take a stroll along the river before returning to our hotel.
A Day at Leisure in Babbacombe
Experience the stunning sea views, colourful promenade and picturesque buildings in the small and tranquil village of Babbacombe. You may wish to visit the popular Babbacombe Model Village which features thousands of miniature buildings encapsulating the essence of all things British. Or you might like a go on the Babbacombe Cliff Railway, built in the same year Lucketts was founded in 1926, it is a popular attraction transporting passengers up and down the 240-foot cliff face Oddicombe beach, with spectacular vistas along the way. Alternatively, Bygones, a Victorian visitor attraction, has three floors of pure nostalgia for all the family where you can wander back in time.
Departing after breakfast, we make our way homeward.
