Tour Itinerary
Day 1

We travel to Tiverton to arrive at our hotel in the afternoon where we enjoy a Devon cream tea before settling into our rooms.

Day 2

Sidmouth & cruise on the River Exe
Today we enjoy a morning excursion to the stylish Regency resort of Sidmouth, situated on the Jurassic Coast, and England's first natural World Heritage Site, Sidmouth is home to beautiful beaches, stylish eating places and great shopping, with everything from unusual gifts, designer clothing and lifestyle goods available. In the afternoon we visit another seaside resort, Exmouth, where artists and poets have been inspired over the centuries, we take a relaxing cruise on the River Exe, Devon's main river rising on Exmoor and flowing south for more than 50 miles till it reaches the sea at Exmouth, we take in the sights, history and wildlife of the surrounding area on the cruise with free time in the town after.

Day 3

Dunster & The West Somerset Railway
Touring through the delightful Exmoor National Park we reach the unique medieval village of Dunster, with its Castle, Yarn Market building, Tithe Barn and a wealth of 200 listed buildings, Dunster is a favourite destination for many visitors. In the afternoon we are off to the coastal resort of Minehead to board the West Somerset Railway, we travel the 20 miles of heritage railway through some of Somerset's stunning countryside and coast views.

Day 4

Horse Drawn Barge & National Trust Knightshayes
Watch the world go by along the idyllic Grand Western Canal on the last horse-drawn barge trip in the South West - a little bit of 'heaven' in Devon! A trip on the "Tivertonian" offers a truly unique and memorable living heritage experience of a time before steam. Get to know the staff, heavy horses, barge and wildlife on this wonderful journey. In the afternoon we visit Knightshayes, with acres of glorious garden and park surrounding a spectacular Gothic Revival house, Knightshayes is the complete country gentleman's dream. The house is a rare example of the work of William Burges, whose lavish designs have always inspired extremes in opinion. Full of quirks and curiosities, it is a house of many faces. The formal and woodland garden is one of the finest and most varied plant collections in the country.

Day 5

We say goodbye to Devon and return to the local area and home.
