Called the 'Venice of the North' because of the picturesque criss-cross canals on which you can enjoy a romantic boat ride, Bruges has a character of its own. All the facilities of a modern city - shops, restaurants, bars and hotels - are found behind the centuries-old facades and weathered gables of the historic buildings at the city's heart. ©Toerisme Brugge
