Enjoy a scenic tour of the Snowdonian countryside towards the popular resort of Betws-y-Coed. Continue along the coast to the Menai Bridge which takes us over the Menai Straits to the island of Anglesey and the town of Beaumaris, home to Beaumaris Castle, a great unfinished masterpiece regarded as the finest Edwardian castle in Wales. This pretty seaside town also features a Victorian pier, pastel painted houses and a wide range of shops, tea rooms and pubs.
Travel to Chester for a day at leisure. Chester offers buildings of every era, each carefully restored to retain the olde-world backdrop to the modern-day bustle of vibrant city life. Chester is home to the unique 13th century rows, the half-timbered galleried shops and the largest Roman amphitheatre in Britain. The Christmas market will have over 70 traditional wooden chalets around a Christmas tree, showcasing everything from unique treats and gifts, handmade crafts and stocking fillers to festive food and drinks.
Portmeirion & Llanberis
Travel to the Italian-style village of Portmeirion in North Wales. Created by architect Clough Williams-Ellis from 1925 to 1975, he wanted to pay tribute to the atmosphere of the Mediterranean and show how a naturally beautiful site could be developed without spoiling it. Its unique look makes it an ideal filming location, most famous for the 1960's series The Prisoner. We head back in the afternoon for free time in Llanberis.
We depart for home after breakfast.
