MEDIA RELEASE 10 September 2010
Grand opening for Lucketts Travels new offices
Fareham-based Lucketts Travel has celebrated the official
opening of its new state-of-the-art offices and workshop with
dignitaries from the local community.
More than 150 guests, including Mark Hoban MP and the Mayor
and Mayoress of Fareham, joined the family-owned coach company
to mark the major milestone which poignantly took place on the
44th anniversary of the founder Harry Lucketts death.
The event was the culmination of what has been a hugely
successful two years in which the business has thrived, despite
the country being in the depths of recession.
The new building at the coach firms base in Broadcut
includes a suite of offices and maintenance facilities for its
70-vehicle fleet. This significant investment was made possible
following a strong 12 months in which Lucketts was awarded a
multi-million pound contract with National Express.
The 84-year-old business has also been recognised with a
host of accolades in recent months including National Express
Coach Operator of the Year, The News Business of the Year and
Coach Tourism Coach Operator of the Year.
Speaking at the launch event, Lucketts chairman David
Luckett, said: Back in May I was honoured by my peers in the
Coach Industry and given a special lifetime achievement
award.
Being able to open these offices marks another lifetime
achievement for me. Ive always been an advocate in giving staff
the best working conditions and vehicles to operate. These new
offices further fulfil that commitment.
Lucketts is one of the largest providers of coaches in the
region catering for holidays and excursions all across the
UK.
