Premiership-style PE for Portsmouth

Children from a Portsmouth junior school were treated to a
Premiership-style PE lesson with Pompey FC after winning first
prize in a competition.
The group of year three pupils from Northern Parade Junior
School in Hilsea won coach company Lucketts Pompey Offer
competition and enjoyed a personal training session by three
academy coaches from Fratton Park.
For two hours the children were put through their paces as
they showed off their talents and learned new ball skills. The
session finished with a short match that gave the pupils a
chance to use their new found footballing prowess.
Lucketts Travel, the largest provider of coaches for schools
in the region, teamed up with Portsmouth Football Club for the
prize draw as a thank you for continued support.
Before the session eight-year-old Frances Mitchison said: I
love football and I cant wait to be given a lesson by people
from Pompey. Me and my friends have been really excited.
Paul Walton, associate headteacher at Northern Parade Junior
School, said: There has been lots of excitement about the
academy coaches coming, the children have been looking forward
to it ever since we found out wed won.
We always use Lucketts coaches for our trips because they
are reliable, friendly and welcoming of children.
Paul Barringer, sales director of Lucketts, said: We really
enjoy working with schools. Children are always fun passengers
especially when off on a school trip so we wanted to run a
competition to give them something else theyd really enjoy.
