Our hotel is ideally situated on the banks of the River Ouse in the heart of historic York with all major tourist attractions within walking distance. The Riverside Bar is the perfect place to relax before dinner in The Royal Brasserie. We depart the local area and make our way northward to arrive at our hotel in time for dinner.

Day 2

A full day at leisure in the historic city of York. No other city offers the charm and beauty of York with 2000 years of history combined with bustling shopping streets and numerous award winning attractions. Maybe visit the Jorvik Viking Centre, Castle Museum, York Minster, Yorkshire Museum and gardens, York Dungeon, York WaxWorks and the National Railway Museum, the home of the largest collection of steam locomotives in the country (including the world famous Mallard) or take a relaxing cruise on the river.

Day 3

Another free day in York to explore further, or you may like to join our coach for a morning excursion to Harrogate. With huge open spaces and broad tree-lined boulevards, antique shops, shopping malls and elegant buildings as well as the world famous Betty’s tearooms, founded in 1919 by a Swiss confectioner. Just around the corner from Betty’s is Farrar’s of Harrogate, established in 1840 and best known for its Original Harrogate Toffee - the favourite sweetie of the late Queen Mother.

We depart after breakfast and retrace our steps back to the local area.
