Our fabulous 5 day break to Cheshire includes a cruise through the beautiful Vale of Llangollen and a cruise on the Shropshire Union Canal.

This hotel is a beautiful mix of modern facilities and elegant grandeur, parts dating back to 1831. Facilities include a restaurant, lounge bar and leisure facilities, which include swimming pool, Jacuzzi, sauna and steam room. Day 1

After collection from your home we make our way north arriving at our hotel late afternoon with plenty of time to relax before dinner.

Day 2

This morning we make our way to Ellesmere Port to visit the National Waterways Museum. on arrival we shall be served tea and coffee before a 45 minute guided tour of the museum which is followed by a 30 minute boat trip along the Shropshire Union Canal with live commentary. We then journey to the beautiful city of Chester, one of the best preserved walled cities in England.

Day 3

Today we follow the Shropshire Union Canal from Cheshire and over the border into Wales to Llangollen where we have some free time to explore the town. This afternoon we take a cruise through the beautiful Vale of Llangollen and across the famous Pontcysyllte Aqueduct whilst enjoying a cream tea and the scenery of the Dee Valley below.

Day 4

Today we make a visit to the Anderton Boat Lift Visitor Centre, where you can visit the Operations Centre and learn of the history and the people who worked on and around the lift. We have included a journey on the lift travelling between the River Weaver and the Trent & Mersey Canal. There will also be time to visit the café and gift shop.

Day 5

Sadly we have to return home today, making usual comfort stops en-route. We arrive back in the local area early evening.
