The Lake District is thought to be one of the most picturesque regions within the UK. During our visit we have included many exciting excursions, including entrance to Beatrix Potter World, and a cruise on Lake Windermere. We will also visit Keswick in the Northern Lakes, and the village of Coniston.

Excursions as described
Once collected from your home we travel to Cumbria and arrive at our hotel in Shap in time for dinner.
Our day out begins with a ride to Ambleside and around the lake to Coniston Water and the village of Coniston, famed for its associations with Donald Campbell and his attempts on the world water speed record. We then visit Newby Bridge, a small village adjoining the River Leven at the southern end of Lake Windermere which got its name from the five-arched stone bridge built across the river in 1651.
This morning we travel to Haverthwaite where we take a journey by Steam locomotive on The Lake District’s only standard gauge preserved railway line, through the Leven Valley to the bottom of Lake Windermere. From here we hop on to a boat and sail up the Lake to Bowness where it’s just a short walk to The World of Beatrix Potter™ Attraction where 3D scenes from Beatrix Potter's stories combine with atmospheric lighting and real sounds and smells, taking visitors right to the pages of her beautiful stories.
We travel to Keswick, in the Northern Lakes, where we take a break and have chance to look around. Continuing past Thirlmere and over Dunmail Raise we stop in Wordsworth's Grasmere for a while before we return via the spectacular Kirkstone Pass to the hotel.Br, D
After breakfast we leave and begin our homeward journeyBr
