Day 1

We make our way northward to arrive at our overnight hotel in Middlesbrough in time for dinner.


Day 2

We continue north to arrive at our hotel in North Berwick.

Day 3

Today we enjoy a guided coach tour around Berwick-upon-Tweed & the Scottish Borders where we discover the history, legends and unspoiled landscapes of the Scottish Borders including a section of Berwick's unique Elizabethan ramparts and Bastions. After a coffee stop in we travel along the south bank of the River Tweed and enter Scotland near Carham the route crosses over the River Tweed and will arrive in Kelso where we stop for lunch. This afternoon we continue through scenic Border landscapes, passing the romantic Smailholm Tower. There will be a short photo stop at Sir Walter Scott's favourite view of the Eildon Hills before our tour ends beside the attractive ruined abbey in the town of Melrose.

Day 4

This morning we travel to Bowhill, set in 61,000 acres. The Buccleuch family and Bowhill are almost as old as the nation of Scotland itself. This majestic House and its Estate have been the centre of life in this rural oasis for more than 200 years. Bowhill enjoys a regal seat in the heart of the ancient royal hunting forest of Ettrick and is blessed with an abundance of glorious scenery. We start with a house tour including downstairs of the house before a buffet lunch followed by tea / coffee in the tea rooms. This afternoon we enjoy a guided tour of the garden and landscaped woodland around the house followed by free time to explore the gardens further.

Day 5

A full day in Edinburgh. We begin with a morning visit to the former Royal Yacht Britannia. We then transfer to the centre of Edinburgh where you will have free time for shopping and sightseeing. Maybe visit the famous castle or browse the many shops along Princes Street or the Royal Mile.

Day 6

We begin our homeward journey and head south to our overnight hotel in Broughton.

We continue our journey south towards home
