Created in Menton in 1934, the Lemon Festival is a unique event in the world. Locals use citrus fruit to create huge exhibitions and statues in dazzling yellow and orange shades. Some can reaching heights of 10 metres and more. Now in its 83rd year the results are truly extraordinary.

Day 1

We depart early morning and make our way to Dover for the short sea crossing to Calais. We continue our journey through France stopping in the Dijon area for the night arriving in time for dinner.

Day 2

Departing after breakfast we continue on through Burgundy and Rhone-Alpes until we reach our destination on the Ligurian coast.

Day 3

A day at leisure in Diano Marina to soak up the atmosphere, explore the bustling streets or enjoy a drink in one of the many bars and cafes.

Day 4

Today we travel to Menton where during the month of February they go Mimosa crazy with a spectacular parade of flowered floats which form the highlight of the event and a fitting colourful end to an otherwise dreary winter. Today is festival day and we take our reserved seats to enjoy the Golden Fruit Parade where entertainers, brass bands and folk groups will wheel, spin and dance between the magnificent citrus fruit floats.

Day 5

After a leisurely breakfast we make our way to the principality of Monaco, which offers a great balance of historical and modern attractions.

Day 6

A morning excursion to nearby city of�San Remo, which was founded in Roman times and is known as�"The Pearl of the Riviera of the flowers" with its clutch of ostentatious villas and lashings of Riviera-style grandeur. We return to Diano Marina for an afternoon at leisure.

Day 7

We leave our hotel this morning and make our way back to the Beaune area for our overnight stop.

Day 8

Departing after breakfast we continue our journey home via the short sea ferry from Calais to Dover, arriving back into the local area for your taxi home.
