Day 1

We journey to the beautiful Lake District, arriving at our hotel in time for dinner.


Day 2

This morning we stop at the Lake District Visitor Centre overlooking Lake Windermere, with time to visit the museum where you can discover more about the Lake District and its stunning landscape. We then continue to Ambleside, located at the foot of the Kirkstone Pass in the very heart of the Lake District.

Day 3

Head to Muncaster Castle, Gardens, Hawk & Owl Centre. The privately-owned castle overlooks the Esk River close to the west-coastal town of Ravenglass and is said to be haunted. Then continue to Grasmere, one of Cumbria’s most popular villages and the former home of poet William Wordsworth. There is a wide variety of gift shops, cafes and tearooms to explore.

Day 4

Today, visit the Lakeland Motor Museum which has a unique collection of 30,000 exhibits including 140 classic cars and motorbikes, all carefully assembled over 50 years. The fascinating collection traces the development of road transport throughout the 20th century. This afternoon, journey to Coniston for a visit to Brantwood, the home of John Ruskin. Filled with many fine paintings, beautiful
furniture and Ruskin’s personal treasures, the house retains the character of its famous resident.
