Early morning departure from home to catch the 08.15 ferry from Portsmouth to Caen. On arrival in Caen we continue on to Lisieux arriving in time for dinner.
Our day will take us to the medieval city of Rouen with its magnificent cathedral and large pedestriansed centre. Be sure to take your cameras and visit the centre of the city where you will find the famous clock, the Gros Horloge. After time for lunch here we then make the short journey to Giverny to visit the beautiful gardens of Claude Monet, where you can admire some of the most iconic scenes in the whole of France.
Today we journey to one of the most beautiful castles in Normandy, Chateau de Vendeuvre which hosts the annual tulip festival. Here you will witness a breathtaking colourful display of over 30,000 flowers including narcissi, grape hyacinths and of course, a copious amount of tulips!
We depart after breakfast and make our way into the city of Caen for some free time before checking in for our afternoon ferry back to Portsmouth.Br, D
