GWS Motorsport

We are pleased to announce that Lucketts Travel have agreed a sponsorship deal with GWS Motorsport for the 2011 racing season.

GWS Motorsport was founded by Glenn Sherwood, proprietor of Tructyre Fleet Management (Tructyre). From its foundation in 1996 by Glenn, Tructyre has become one of the largest regional provider of truck tyre service specialists in the UK, managing tyres for the top truck fleets in the UK, including our very own coach fleet, operating in excess of 40 specialist service vans from twelve specialist depots.

Its original location in Winchester is the main hub and head office, where the heart of the operation is based, managing breakdowns and service 24/7, distribution and fleet administration.

Having been closely involved with motorsport over the past 30 years through his involvement in the tyre industry. Glenn finally managed to achieve his ambition - running his own racing team - GWS Motorsport .

GWS Motorsport started in January 2010, and started out with a basic Lotus Exige S2, and over the year developed into a front running team by the end of the season.

The Lotus on Track Racing Drivers Club started in 2005, was for Lotus enthusiasts for track days, which is still the backbone, with over 600 events per annum across Europe on famous racetracks such as Silverstone, Spa, Brands Hatch, Goodwood and Le Mans etc.

It a non profit organisation, which expanded in to premier racing series with now 3 premier series, Lotus Elise Trophy UK, Lotus Cup Europe and now Lotus Cup UK.

Glenn's co-driver for the season will be Jamie Stanley, one of the UK's rising stars in motorsports.

The series support by MSVR (Motorsport Vision Racing) headed up by Jonathon Palmer is linked as support races with the FIA European F2 Championship, FIA WTCC and the FIA European Truck Racing Championship etc.
